Tomato Badh a la Tech Support

Whenever I’m put on hold on with tech support waiting for something to download, I ask for Indian recipes. This one was from 20-year old, Karehit from Chennai. This recipe easier than most and uses ingredients that I can find here.

Ingredients

    1 tomato
    1 onion
    Chili powder (to taste)
    Salt (to taste)
    Bread
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1-1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tbsp. oil
    1 c. water

Instructions

Finely dice up tomatoes and onions.
Fry in cooking oil for about 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
Add a little water, chili powder and salt (to taste).
    Cook for 5-7 minutes.
Spread on Chapatis bread or Nan bread (similar Indian flatbreads). “The chapatis bread in his area is made simply with whole wheat flour, water, salt whereas the nan breads use white flour.”
    To make bread:
Mix flour, salt, oil and water.
Add more flour for kneading and roll to flat round loaves.
Fry both sides of loaves in a skillet.
