Day 13 Seal Trap Cove

Bryan sent his drone up above the layer of fog so we could see the island, Isle au Haut and nearby islands. In the early evening after having a margarita he decided to see how high and how far the drone could go. Well, the low battery light flashed on the control panel, and the drone’s homing instinct only got it part way back until we could see the image descending on some rocks but couldn’t see where it made its crash landing. We rowed to shore that evening and again the following morning, scampering among the rocks like mountain goats, and hiking the fairytale-like trails, filling up on ripe red raspberries growing wild by the thousands alongside. We are now drone-less, but well exercised and ready to move on to our next anchorage.
