Muriel’s Marvelous Asparagus

This is probably the only dish I prepare in a microwave, but it works so well, and is a great last-minute addition of elegance and color, and is a lovely compliment to any dinner.


    Small bunch asparagus
    1 tbsp. hazelnut oil (or other nut oil, or olive oil)
    1/2 tsp. sea salt


    Cut off at least 1 inch of the end of asparagus (to leave just the tender part).
    Chop each asparagus spear in half.
    Lay the spears in a ceramic container and pour hazelnut oil over them. Enough to cover the bottom of container.
    Stir asparagus and sprinkle with sea salt.
    Microwave for 3 minutes.
