Day 37 Clamming and Seal Cove

Bryan woke up early and saw that we were in about 6 feet of water with the tide to drop another 5 feet. He tried to pull the anchor up to move but to no avail. It was wrapped around a large boulder which had pulled the boat closer to shore. Having visions of another cold dive, we first drove the boat around the boulder in the opposite direction that the boat had swung with the change if tides overnight. The anchor came free and we were able to move to a deeper spot!

At low tide Bryan, Rob and Marcia went clamming in an area of bits of shells instead of sand, so much cleaner and also beautiful with the mist rising behind them. They caught steamers and quahogs.

We passed Stonington, put the sails up and had a smooth 6 hour sail to Seal Cove. Rob and Marcia followed us and we boarded their sailboat, Cadence, for a late dinner of pasta and steamed  clams.
