Day 42 Meetup with a Mentor at Boothbay Harbor

We joined Bryan’s former photography mentor, Bob Krist and his wife Peggy for lunch at their condo overlooking the harbor, all the while doing three loads of much needed laundry. Bryan and Pete, both assistant photographers to Bob, had nicknamed him “the great one” not only for his photography skills but also as a person to look up to. Here are a couple links to see Bryan’s work and Bob’s work, including his current documentaries.

Peggy was equally delightful and we enjoyed swapping stories. I played my little Pepe Romero travel guitar and Bryan and I sang “Favorable Winds” for them which Bob of course recorded. He was surprised to hear Bryan sing, as he had never sung anything before recording this tune with me on the Sailing Dreams CD. Indeed, an unexpected talent.

We bid a quick goodbye at the fuel dock where we were boing waved off, and I regretted not having time to see if the houseboat “Working Remote” was there, a wonderful couple I had met the last time in Boothbay and I really wanted to see them again. We headed to Harbor Island and seeing many sailboats there, dropped anchor about a mile away between two small islands in a quiet little spot.
