Day 48 Civilization

Several friends live in Portland, so we took the opportunity to meet with them before Bryan and I part paths tomorrow.
Bryan had met Randall Williams in the Bahamas, when Randall’s boat was the only one that joined his in a scenic but shallow cove where Bryan had been anchored for a week. Bryan was surprised to find that I was on Randall’s speed dial, as we have known each other for many years. His capo company was one that sponsored my All Star Guitar Night, and I saw him each NAMM show. It was fun for all of us to reconnect.
I took my travel guitar in the car and serenaded Randall with the song “Captain Noah” as he drove us to his house. Another coincidence is that he also knew Noah Barnes, for whom the song was written.
Tacos and a real shower were equally appreciated!
We returned to the boat, then Rob and Marcia brought us to a Mexican restaurant downtown. To be around a city again seemed a unique experience. With many house problems going on back home in Nashville, being around friends really lifted my spirits. I resisted the temptation to take photos and just enjoyed these times together.
