Our friend Thom Bresh

I’m sorry to say that our longtime friend and great musician Thom Bresh passed away yesterday 5/23/22 at age 74 at his home, having lost his battle against esophagus cancer. We shared countless fajita dinners, laughs, tunes, and stories over the years. I admired his driving rhythm and energetic tunes, with a thumb picking style attributed to his father, Merle Travis. He was a regular on my All Star Guitar Nights and I was honored to invite him as a featured artist at my Saturday After Thanksgiving concert. The photo together with Les Paul is from an ASGN at the Ryman. He will be buried next to his father Merle Travis June 2, at 12:45pm at Tucker funeral home in Central City, Kentucky. A tribute will be planned for him at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention in Nashville TN in July.
Steve and Johnnie posted a nice tribute to “The Breshman” as he liked to call himself, here https://steveandjohnnie.wordpress.com/2022/05/24/r-i-p-thom-bresh/
