Tour Schedule

An experience of all the senses

Muriel Anderson takes you on a journey with her 20-string harp-guitar enhanced by a backdrop of visuals artfully projected onto a screen behind her. If you’re not already familiar with Muriel, you will find yourself smiling when you feel the joy of her music shining through a stunning array of styles. You’ll travel with her on her sailing adventures, and virtually (sometimes actually) taste the experiences that led to her release “Acoustic Chef.” Visuals by celebrated photo-artist Bryan Allen. (They travel with their own projector and at some venues may provide samples to hand out when doing the Acoustic Chef show.)

Recent releases are book/CD “The Optimism Collection” and book/game “Sailing Dreams”

Brief Bio

One of the world’s foremost fingerstyle guitarists and harp-guitarists, Muriel Anderson embraces music from all over the world with a sense of grace, joy, and gentle humor. She connects with the audience through both her stories and her unique approach to the instrument, virtually transforming the guitar into a lyrical choir, then a marching band, then a Japanese koto, then a Bluegrass band, one moment launching into a Beatles’ tune, then Spanish classic. Her original instrumentals describe places and times gone by, and you may hear vocals sung in French, Italian, Japanese, and English.

Muriel is the first woman to have won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship and has performed/recorded with Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Victor Wooten and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. Her CD “Nightlight Daylight” was chosen as one of the top 10 CDs of the decade by Guitar Player Magazine. She is host of the renowned Muriel Anderson’s ALL STAR GUITAR NIGHT® and founder of the MUSIC FOR LIFE ALLIANCE charity.

Quotes from recent venues

Muriel Anderson performed an exquisite and memorable concert set at The Folk Project’s Acoustic Getaway. Her skill, talent and showmanship were extraordinary, and our audience responded with a well-earned standing ovation. Her workshops were excellent and instructive, and she was pleasant and interactive with all our guests the entire weekend. …Mark Schaffer, Chairman of The Folk Project Acoustic Getaway

Muriel Anderson’s performance blew us all away at the Troubadour. Including me. As a guitarist myself, I was astonished at how easily and fluidly she breezed through musical passages of extreme technical difficulty. And her presentation and stage persona were inviting, friendly, and accessible to everyone in the audience, whether musicians or ordinary music-lovers. I can’t wait to have her back. Mike Agranoff, Chairman Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series Morristown, NJ
